Cooperfrigu in partnership with Sescoop offers training on good handling practices in live cargo transportation

On December 7th and 8th, it was provided to the outsourced drivers of the company Águia Transportes, a qualification and training about Good Practices of Management in the Transportation of Live Cargo. With a duration of 16 hours certified, having as instructor the Zootechnician Paulo Ferraz, Specialist in Cattle Production.

The qualification covers from the philosophical parts of animal welfare, involving the concerns in the handling that goes through the ethical part including dignity in the creation of these animals from birth to the day of slaughter. During this period inside the property it is indispensable that the animal be treated with respect and live in ambience.

Cooperfrigu, in partnership with the National Cooperativism Learning Service (Sescoop), intends to offer knowledge on the best way of driving when boarding, transportation and disembarkation of animals.

“We understand that professional training is one of the basic requirements to maintain the commitment of any team. In front of this training we have already achieved results, as I notice that the team is well motivated and prepared to develop a good work in the transportation of cattle. “Said Salmeron Chaves, manager of the carrier.

For Paulo Ferraz everyone needs to be interested to carry out this management in a fair way in favor of animal welfare. Through the subject addressed, the instructor made several inquiries, such as; what to do to improve facilities for successful transportation, what techniques to use to know the emotional state of each animal, how to avoid accidents with livestock, and several others.

He also stressed that the daily routine is a crucial element on acting wrongly with those animals and that to live with the cattle and to have their obedience is not necessary the usage of physical force. Therefore, the well-being of the cattle and well-being of those who handles them is a sign that everything is going well.

“These two days of training have brought us a lot of essential information so that the animal arrives in the cold storage industry with as little stress as possible. We are taking care not only to get our product to the final consumer with the best quality, but also to improve the conditions of those who are dealing, in order to facilitate.” said Tarcizio Goiabeira, vice president of Cooperfrigu.
